Cape Town City FC is on the verge of parting ways with Thulani Serero and Kamohelo Mokotjo, while an ex-Orlando Pirates player has already departed from the club.

The former Bafana Bafana international, Mokotjo, joined CT City at the beginning of the season as the Citizens aimed to bolster their squad. Serero, on the other hand, returned to the Betway Premiership in February of this year after spending a decade away.

Mokotjo, who arrived from Sekhukhune United, has started 13 matches across all competitions this season and made six substitute appearances. Serero has only started one game against Kaizer Chiefs, with four appearances coming off the bench.

According to FARPost sources from the Mother City outfit, the clubโ€™s management has begun discussing Mokotjo’s exit. The latter penned a two-year contract when he joined at the start of the campaign. If the two parties settle, he could leave immediately.

Serero signed a deal that runs until the end of the season, with an option to extend. His situation appears to be the simplest, as the club could continue to pay his wages until the end of the season, but allow him to depart now.

The arrival of the veteran midfielders and several other signings has not helped CT City this season. They lie 15th on the Betway Premiership table, having only won six matches this season. The Citizens have lost 15 of their games and are facing relegation from the top-flight.

WHICH FORMER PIRATES PLAYER HAS LEFT AS MOKOTJO & SERERO EXIT LOOMS

Meanwhile, former Pirates reserves goalkeeper, Ayanda Elson Sithole, has already left the club. Sithole has been deemed surplus to requirements after being unable to secure a spot on the team.

The 24-year-old Bucs academy graduate, who previously played for Motsepe Foundation Championship side Venda Football Club, joined the Citizens from Magesi FC at the start of the season.

At Magesi, he faced similar challenges as he played second fiddle to Elvis Chipezeze, making only three appearances.
