Former Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Moeneeb Josephs has singled out a Kaizer Chiefs player who he believes is “dangerous” and can cause problems for the Buccaneers when the two sides meet on Saturday in the Nedbank Cup final.

The Nedbank Cup Soweto Derby final will be played at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban, with the kick-off set for 15:30.

Amakhosi come into this encounter after suffering a 2-1 defeat to the Sea Robbers last weekend in their Betway Premiership clash at FNB Stadium.

Nasreddine Nabi-coached side will be seeking to redeem themselves and secure a win, having lost the last five Soweto Derbies to Pirates.

Josephs pointed out Glody Lilepo as one player who could cause trouble for Pirates in the final. The 27-year-old was on the scoresheet when Chiefs lost to the ‘Happy People’ last weekend.

The talented winger signed for the Glamour Boys in January this year from Valenciennes FC. Through his impressive performances, Lilepo has demonstrated increasing influence as a winger for his team, Chiefs.

Since he arrived at Chiefs, he has featured in 16 games across all competitions and found the back of the net on five occasions.

“Let’s not beat around the bush. Lilepo is a very dangerous player that they have,” said Josephs in an interview with Lebohang ‘Cheeseboy’ Mokoena on SoccerBeat.

“But there is no use in having Lilepo there in front alone against four of our guys. That is the difference with him. But his teammates are always split too far from him.

“So, if they are not going to fix that, we are going to exploit that midfield with Thalente Mbatha. They are going to need to fix that problem [in order to overcome Pirates].”
