Despite an impressive start to his tenure as head coach of Marumo Gallants, Abdeslam Ouaddou’s future at the club remains uncertain, FARPost has learnt.
The former Moroccan international defender joined the Betway Premiership club in March this year after the departure of Dan Malesela. He immediately made an impact at the club, winning his first match against Orlando Pirates in the league.
The 46-year-old also took the Free State-based club to the Nedbank Cup semi-finals. But the club was eliminated after a 1-0 defeat by Pirates in Soweto. Some of his interesting results include a 2-1 win over Kaizer Chiefs in the Betway Premiership last month.
WHAT DOES THE FUTURE HOLD FOR ABDESLAM OUADDOU AT MARUMO GALLANTS?
This publication has gathered that the Moroccan has attracted interest from abroad. Ouaddou was recently out of the country for ‘personal reasons’. He is expected to fly back to South Africa to resume training with his players at Gallants.
But his future at the club remains uncertain, with contract negotiations between him and Gallants also stalled.

WILL THE BETWAY PREMIERSHIP SIDE FIGHT TO KEEP THEIR COACH AHEAD OF NEXT SEASON?
It was previously reported thatGallants were keen on offering the former Fulham FC player a long-term contract.
This is after he took the club from the bottom of the log standings in the league to currently 10th and still within a chance to secure a top-eight spot. Gallants are on 30 points with two matches to play.
Their next league match will be against fellow top-eight chasers Chippa United before they wrap up the season with an encounter against Magesi FC.
Before joining Gallants, Ouaddou was in charge of the Congolese side, Vita Club between September 2024 and February 2025. He has also coached Moroccan club Mouloudia Club d’Oujda.
