Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi has revealed his condition to remain at the club next season amid the rumours linking with an exit door at the end of the campaign.
Fresh off leading Chiefs to their first trophy since the 2014/15 season with a 2-1 Nedbank Cup final win over Orlando Pirates in Durban on Saturday, Sunday Times reported that the Tunisian coach would be axed.
The Nedbank Cup trophy win came after inconsistent performances in the Betway Premiership where Chiefs won eight matches, lost 12 and drew six. They sit ninth in the league standings with 30 points after 26 games.
The former Young Africans mentor still has a year remaining on the two-year contract he signed with Chiefs, which also includes an option for a further year’s extension.

Nabi expressed his desire to remain with the club beyond the current season; however, he acknowledged that it would not be truthful to state whether he would continue if Chiefs does not provide the necessary resources to ensure his success.
NABI – ‘I DON’T WANT TO GO THROUGH WHAT I WENT THROUGH THIS SEASON’
“I wouldn’t be honest if say that I’m gonna stay if the club doesn’t allow me to get all the tools to succeed next season because they have promised, and myself, I have promised the fans that I want to build a successful team that will compete in every competition to win trophies,” said Nabi on Extra Time on SuperSport.
“That’s the condition for me to stay [at Chiefs] because I don’t feel that I want to go through what I went through this season.”
With two matches remaining in the Betway Premiership season, Chiefs are striving to secure a position in the top eight. Their upcoming opponents are Sekhukhune United and Polokwane City FC.
