Bafana Bafana international Lyle Foster has reacted to Burnley FC’s record-breaking season in the English Football League [EFL] Championship.
Burnley finished as the EFL Championship runner-up with 100 points, equal on points with the league winners Leeds United, who had a better goal difference.
However, the second-place finish was enough for Foster’s side to gain promotion back to the English Premier League [EPL] following their relegation last season.
Burnley have surpassed a long-held club record of 31 league matches without a loss, set 104 years ago in the 1920/1921 season. This campaign, the side played 33 games unbeaten, equaling Reading FC’s record.
In addition, Burnley conceded 16 goals, kept 30 clean sheets, and suffered only two defeats.
Meanwhile, the Orlando Pirates product, Foster, featured in 31 games across all competitions for Burnley, finding the back of the net three times, and provided five assists, while playing out of his natural striker position.
