At least three Betway Premiership clubs are monitoring Kaizer Chiefs trialist Mhleli Mabuza, who began training with Amakhosi earlier this week.
Mabuza arrived at Naturena on Monday and is being assessed following an impressive season in Portugal.
The KZN academy graduate made a significant impact overseas, earning the title of Best Right Back in the Campeonato de Portugal. After this achievement, several PSL clubs expressed interest in him.
Mabuza delivered exceptional performances for the fourth-tier club in the southern European country, contributing nine assists for Louletano DC, which led to this recognition.
The recognition comes at an interesting time, as rumours swirl about a possible return to the South African top-flight. Reports indicate that AmaZulu FC and Sekhukhune United are among the Betway Premiership clubs monitoring the skilful fullback in anticipation of the July/August transfer window.

The 24-year-old moved to Portugal in 2018 after impressing during a series of friendly matches. He recently shared that his European journey has not been easy, given the different style of play, language, and culture.
Nevertheless, he successfully adapted, learning both the language and the local style of play.
WHAT IS CURRENTLY HAPPENING WITH MHLELI MABUZA AT CHIEFS?
Mabuza returned to South Africa last week and is being assessed by Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi and his technical team before the club decides whether to sign him.
As a talented wingback, Mabuza possesses attacking qualities, showcasing both skill on the ball and well-timed tackles defensively.
Chiefs, who qualified for the CAF Confederation Cup next season, aim to strengthen several positions, particularly right back. With the injury sustained by Reeve Frosler, they were left with only Dillan Solomons.
The Soweto giants seek to boost competition for that position in the upcoming season.
