Sekhukhune and Chiefs settle for draw in Polokwane

Glody Lilepo in action for Kaizer Chiefs

Sekhukhune United and Kaizer Chiefs settled for a 1-1 draw in their Betway Premiership clash at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Saturday afternoon.

Babina Noko started the showdown on a high note with Ngoanamello Rammala finding the back of the net as early as the fourth minute into the game.

After an exciting start in the opening minutes of the contest, the match slowed down a little bit. Clear-cut opportunities were scarce, with Sekhukhune predominantly concentrating on defending their goal.

With the Limpopo club showing resistance at the back, Amakhosi tried to level matters via set-plays, but Sekhukhune remained disciplined.

Chiefs were never discouraged and started to test Renaldo Leaner from a distance; however, their efforts were not good enough. The Soweto giants continued to dominate ball possession and controlled proceedings for the majority of the first-half till before the half-time break.

In the stoppage time of the first-half, Glody Lilepo found the equaliser for Chiefs.

In the end, Babina Noko and Amakhosi shared the spoils at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.
