Sekhukhune United head coach Eric Tinkler has picked a Mamelodi Sundowns star for the Player of the Season award over Keletso Makgalwa.
Makgalwa has been on fine form for Babina Noko this campaign, having joined them in July 2024 before the start of the 2024/25 Betway Premiership season.
So far, he has made 26 league appearances for the Limpopo club, scoring four goals and providing 11 assists. Overall, Makgalwa has played 32 games for Sekhukhune and found the back of the net six times.
THE MAMELODI SUNDOWNS STAR ERIC TINKLER PICKED AS HIS PLAYER OF THE SEASON
Tinkler picked Masandawana forward Lucas Ribeiro as his Player of the Season, citing that he has scored a lot of goals and contributed a number of assists in the league.

Ribeiro is currently the joint top goal scorer with his teammate Iqraam Rayners on 14 goals in the Betway Premiership.
In addition, the Brazilian-born frontman has weighed in with nine assists in the SA elite league. However, all in all, he has played 46 games across all competitions for Bafana Ba Style and scored 17 goals.
But, Tinkler also emphasised Makgalwa could be considered for the award, given the number of assists he has contributed to his team.
“I think if you look at the statistics, he [Keletso Makgalwa] is the player with the most assists in the league. So, I’m assuming that could be taken into consideration,” said Tinkler.
“However, I haven’t looked at all the other statistics of other players to compare, you know.
“With that said, we know the boy [Lucas Ribeiro] at Mamelodi Sundowns has a lot of assists himself, and not only assists but also a lot of goals.
“So, if I had to choose, I would go with Ribeiro because of the number of goals he has scored this season, you know.”
