Leruma United coach Musa Nyatama has shared with FARPost what his next move could be following the club’s relegation to the SAFA ABC Motsepe League.

The club, which purchased its PSL status from Marumo Gallants, finished bottom of the Motsepe Foundation Championship. They won just six of the 30 matches in the 2024/25 season.

During Nyatama’s tenure, the club managed to collect 17 points from 14 matches, but it wasn’t enough to survive the chop to the amateur league.

LERUMA UNITED COACH WANTS TO HELP THE CLUB RETURN TO THE NATIONAL FIRST DIVISION

The former Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns player has since revealed his intention to remain with the club and help them return to the PSL.

“At the moment, my mind is still with Leruma United. I am still here with the club, and I would like to help them get promoted again,” Nyatama told FARPost. “They have been good to me, the chairman [Leruma Thobejane] and everyone at the club. So I would also like to thank the chairman.”

WHY THE MOTSEPE FOUNDATION CHAMPIONSHIP STRUGGLED ACCORDING TO MUSA NYATAMA

The 37-year-old has also shared his thoughts on why the club struggled to retain their National First Division status.

“When I got in here, I needed to give the guys confidence. They were struggling in terms of the confidence to say we can do it,” he added.

“They have tried for 14 games, we have been together, we tried. We managed to collect 17 points out of 14 games. Of which we could have done better in terms of collecting more. But like I said before, we have a lot of matches that we have to win.

“Even winning 1-0 at times, it also helped. We didn’t have to win 5-0, you win 1-0, you get three points. But we will go down and we will keep fighting and see if we can’t go back to the Motsepe Foundation Championship next season.”
