Richards Bay FC has addressed the future of their three senior team coaches, Ronnie Gabriel, Papi Zothwane, and Siboniso Gumede.
The Natal Rich Boys have successfully managed to move out of the relegation zone with one game left before completing their 2024/25 Betway Premiership season.
Richards Bay have had an inconsistent run of form, which saw them fighting relegation for the most part of the campaign. Following their struggles to produce positive results, Bay parted ways with head coach Brandon Truter, who was at the helm for three months, having taken over the job in August 2024.
After Truter’s exit, Richards Bay roped in Ronnie Gabriel as the interim coach and brought in Papi Zothwane to serve as an assistant coach alongside Siboniso Gumede.
The trio will need to collect maximum points when the KZN-based side face SuperSport United on Saturday, 24 May, to be safe from relegation. Richards Bay are sitting 11th on the log standings with 30 points in 27 matches played in the league.
In the previous season, Richards Bay saved their top-flight status in the PSL Promotional/Relegation Playoffs against the Motsepe Foundation Championship teams AmaTuks and Baroka FC.
RICHARDS BAY FC CONFIRMS THAT THEY ARE NOT LOOKING FOR A COACH

With the season ending in the coming days, the Jomo Biyela-owned team has set the record straight on their coaching department, stating that they are not looking to make any changes.
“Richards Bay Football Club would like to categorically state that the club is not looking for any coach,” the club said in a statement on Thursday.
“Our coaches, namely, Ronnie Gabriel, Papi Zothwane, and Siboniso Gumede, remain our coaches, and we are looking to continue our working relationship with them. They continue to be in the club’s plans.
“The club would further like to thank them for their dedication in improving the team and achieving an improved league standing.”
