Kaizer Chiefs defender Dillan Solomons has opened up on the valuable lessons learned from the club’s head coach, Nasreddine Nabi, during the 2024/25 season.
The Tunisian mentor joined Chiefs at the start of the Betway Premiership campaign from Moroccan side AS FAR.
Nabi arrived at Amakhosi with his full technical team, aiming to bring the club back to its glory days. In the league, Chiefs have struggled to find a consistent winning form as they are currently fighting to finish in the top eight.
The Glamour Boys are winless in their last eight matches in the Premiership after playing four draws against Cape Town City FC, TS Galaxy, Chippa United, and Sekhukhune United. They suffered defeats against Golden Arrows, Richards Bay FC, Marumo Gallants, and Orlando Pirates.
Having last won a match against Magesi FC at the beginning of March, the Naturena-based side is sitting ninth on the league table with 31 points in 27 matches.
Despite their struggles in the league, Chiefs have won the 2025 Nedbank Cup after beating Pirates 2-1 in the final at the Moses Mabhida Stadium two weeks ago.
With a victory over arch rivals Pirates, Chiefs ended their 10-year trophy drought and also sealed a place in the CAF Confederation Cup next season.
DILLAN SOLOMONS SHARES NABI’S INFLUENCE AT CHIEFS

The pacey right-back Solomons revealed that coach Nabi has taught the players a valuable lesson: some matches are won with talent, while others require aggression.
“Obviously, it’s been a difficult season for us, and what I learned from the coach is to have a little more determination,” Solomons said.
“Some games you’re going to win with talent, and some games you’re going to win with aggression and determination. I think that’s what we learned as a team, just to do more as a team and hopefully next season you guys will see more of it.”
Chiefs will welcome Polokwane City FC to FNB Stadium on Saturday, 24 May in their last game of the season. The intention is to collect maximum points and finish in the top eight. The match will kick off at 15:00.
