The highly-rated attacker Stephane Aziz Ki has made an exciting transfer move from Young Africans SC to Wydad Casablanca in Morocco.

Aziz Ki has been one of the most sought-after players on the African continent following his rise to prominence with the Tanzanian giants, Yanga.

The 29-year-old has been with Yanga since July 2022 after joining from ASEC Mimosas. He established himself as a prolific attacker in the Tanzanian Premier League after winning a handful of trophies and individual awards.

In his stint at Yanga, Aziz Ki attracted interest from several clubs on the African continent, including the Betway Premiership giants Kaizer Chiefs. Interestingly, the Burkina Faso international previously told FARPost that Chiefs wanted to sign him even before joining Yanga from Ivory Coast’s Mimosas.

The skilful winger made a significant impact at Yanga last season under the then-head coach Miguel Gamondi after winning the Golden Boot with 21 goals.

In a move to find a fresh start, Aziz Ki has completed a move to the Red Castle ahead of their participation in the FIFA Club World Cup next month. Wydad had a disappointing run in the domestic league last season after finishing third on the league table to miss out on the CAF Champions League qualification.

The inconsistent run of form saw Wydad part ways with head coach Rulani Mokwena, who spent one season with the club. Mokwena took over the coaching job at Wydad at the start of the 2023/24 season after his surprise exit from Mamelodi Sundowns in July 2024.

Meanwhile, Aziz Ki will be looking to have a flying start to life with Wydad as they fight to return to their glory days, having fallen off the radar in recent years.

“Step one: done,” reads the brief statement by Wydad as they unveiled Aziz Ki on Sunday morning.
