Stellenbosch FC head coach Steve Barker has confirmed the signing of two new players as well as the exit of an Orlando Pirates-linked player.
‘Stellies’ completed their 2024/25 Betway Premiership season on Saturday with a 0-0 draw against Cape Town City FC in the Mother City Derby.
The club also secured a place in the CAF Confederation Cup for the second successive season after finishing in third place on the log standings. They were eliminated in the semi-finals of the Confed Cup by Tanzanian giants Simba SC, led by Fadlu Davids.
Barker has now confirmed that the club has signed a South African junior international as well as the Motsepe Foundation Championship Top Goal Scorer.
STELLENBOSCH FC SIGN TWO PLAYERS AHEAD OF THE UPCOMING SEASON
“We are a team that is proactive. You may have seen in the news recently, we have alreadyย signed [Siviwe] Nkwali from Cape Town Spurs and Muzi [Muzomuhle Khanyi] from Hungry Lions,โ Barker said.
โSo we are in the market to beef up where we need to. So yeah, we are definitely active behind the scenes. Sometimes these things take a little bit of time for one or two things to happen before you can make one or two of your final decisions.โ

STEVE BARKER BIDS FAREWELL TO SIHLE NDULI, WHO IS REPORTEDLY JOINING ORLANDO PIRATES
Meanwhile, Barker has also confirmed that Sihle Nduli will leave the club. Nduli was captain for the side against the Citizens at the Cape Town Stadium on Saturday. The 29-year-old has been linked with a move to the Buccaneers.
“At this stage, there are obviously a couple of players for whom we won’t be renewing contracts. Obviously, the one that is leaving is Sihle Nduli,โ added Barker.
โPersonally, I want to thank him for the person and the player and the passion that he has shown to this club, and we are happy for him that he is moving on. That is one that we are aware of. Otherwise, the rest we are just looking at positions that we need to strengthen.โ
