After guiding Orbit College FC to the PSL Promotional/Relegation Playoffs, 42-year-old captain Atisang Batsi has shed light on his future at the club.

The 2024/25 Motsepe Foundation Championship season came to an end last weekend, when all the clubs played their last matches of the campaign.

Orbit managed to book a spot in the PSL Promotional/Relegation Playoffs after finishing the season in second position on the log standings with 53 points from 30 outings.

The North West side will be joined by Casric Stars, who secured the third place in the SA second-tier with 48 points after 30 matches.

Orbit and Casric will battle it out with a team that will end in position 15 in the Betway Premiership. The playoffs will start on Tuesday, 27 May 2025.

WHAT ATISANG BATSI SAID ABOUT HIS FUTURE AT ORBIT COLLEGE

Batsi, who will be turning 43 in September this year, stated that he is not planning to hang up his boots as yet. He insisted that he still wants to go for one more season.

“We are going to the playoffs now, so hopefully, I believe we will get promoted to the Betway Premiership,” Batsi told FARPost when asked if he has intentions of retiring after the playoffs.

“I believe I can take one more season; however, we will see how things unfold moving forward from here. But I still want to carry on playing.”

WHAT HAS KEPT ATISANG BATSI GOING THROUGHOUT THE SEASON

Batsi, who is the oldest player in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, mentioned that discipline kept him going, especially at his age, coupled with consistent training sessions.

“To be honest with you, discipline itself has played an important role in my life, for someone at the age I am,” he added.

“I make sure that when we get rest, I rest enough. But when it comes to training sessions, I try by all means to push myself, and I am happy that the young boys also push me. Overall, I am not someone who relaxes a lot; I keep on working, and it works for me.”
