With a move away from Kaizer Chiefs looming, Rwanda National Team coach Adel Amrouche has explained why he believes Fiacre Ntwari is “one for the future.”

Ntwari faced a challenging maiden season at Chiefs following his move from TS Galaxy at the start of the 2024/25 PSL season.

The Wasps number one goalie joined Amakhosi in July 2024 on a four-year contract and quickly became a regular player under coach Nasreddine Nabi. However, during Rwanda’s 2025 AFCON qualifiers, an injury sidelined him, causing a drop down the pecking order. He found himself behind Bruce Bvuma and later Brandon Petersen in the club’s goalkeeping ranks.

Despite his limited game time at club level, Ntwari played a key role for the Rwandan national team, featuring prominently in FIFA World Cup qualifiers. His consistent performances on the international stage have reportedly attracted interest from a French side.

With the transfer window approaching, Chiefs may consider moving the former APR goalkeeper to create a foreign slot.

WHY ADEL AMROUCHE BELIEVES FIACRE NTWARI IS ONE FOR THE FUTURE

Amrouche, who is concerned about the shot-stopper’s lack of game time, has revealed the qualities that make him “one for the future”. At 25, the Algerian mentor believes Ntwari has age on his side.

“He plays well with his feet, he is tall and has good reflexes. He gives confidence to the defence…,” Amrouche told FARPost. “His behaviour is exemplary and he’s very positive within the team and demonstrates a high level of professionalism.”

The former Kenya national team coach added that if Ntwari stays at Chiefs, “he must continue working tirelessly. He believes that under the guidance of the Soweto giants’ goalkeeper coach, Ilyes Mzoughi, Ntwari has the potential to make significant progress.

“He’s really the future, not only for Rwanda, but for African football as well. Besides his technique and how well he plays with the ball, he has a good personality. I honestly think he can be one of the best goalkeepers in Africa.”
