South African junior international and former SuperSport United attacker Shandre Campbell has reflected on his first season at Belgian giants Club Brugge.
Campbell completed a move to Brugge at the beginning of the season after some impressive displays for Betway Premiership side SuperSport United.
The 19-year-old was part of the SuperSport United Soccer Schools system from the age of 11 until his promotion to the DStv Diski Challenge [DDC] team in 2022. He only spent a season with the senior team before he secured a dream move to Belgium.
SUCCESS FOR SOUTH AFRICAN WINGER AFTER HIS FIRST SEASON IN EUROPE
He recently won his first trophy in Belgium after his side beat Anderlecht 2-1 to clinch the Belgian Cup. Campbell also made the bench when his side played Aston Villa in the Last 16 of the UEFA Champions League.

More recently, Campbell received his first Bafana Bafana call-up by coach Hugo Broos. Campbell was named in the 41-member preliminary squad for the two international friendly matches against Tanzania and Mozambique to be played at home next month. The squad is set to be trimmed to 23 players this week.
WHAT SHANDRE CAMPBELL MAKES OF HIS TIME WITH CLUB BRUGGE
โGlory to God for the 2024/2025 season. First half season with Club Brugge and Club NXT, what an amazing feeling,โ he wrote on his Instagram page.
โAlso, the national team was a success, and there is more to come in the future for Bafana Bafana and Amajita.โ
The winger was voted the 2025 U20 COSAFA Cup Player of the Tournament. However, he missed out on playing at the AFCON tournament in Egypt after his club opted against releasing him.
โPlenty more to come in the foreseeable future, ups and downs, but we turned negatives into positives. Till next season BRUGES NO DNA JUST RSA.โ
