Agent Gary Cassisa has revealed that a former Chippa United star has attracted the attention of two Indian Super League clubs.

Cassisa, who handles a significant number of Betway Premiership players, is expecting a busy transfer window.

As such, he has revealed to FARPost that two clubs from the Indian Super League have already shown their interest in Siphelele Luthuli.

INDIAN SUPER LEAGUE CLUBS TARGETING LITHULI

The former Chippa United midfielder, Luthuli, is currently a free agent. He has been clubless since leaving The Chilli Boys in July 2024.

Luthuli has also played for Bloemfontein Celtic, Highlands Park and the University of Pretoria. In February 2025, the 30-year-old trained with Orlando Pirates, but no deal materialised as reported. Luthuli has left Pirates after a brief training stint as he continued his search for a new club.

According to Transfermarkt, he made 109 appearances across all top-flight league competitions, with nine goals and 10 assists under his belt.

The 30-year-old also made eight appearances for the South Africa Under-20. And though agent Cassisa did mention the club names, FARPost understands they have made serious advances for his signature.

“We are in talks with two clubs from the Indian Super League. And we shall reveal the outcome once everything is clear,” Cassisa said.

WAYDE LEKAY SET TO MOVE

Moreover, Cassisa is also in talks with an Indian club interested in former TS Galaxy and Cape Town City FC centre-forward Wayde Lekay.

Lekay has been in the books of Churchill Brothers FC in the Indian Super League since September 2024. He scored 11 goals in the 20 games he played.

The 28-year-old made 47 appearances for TS Galaxy, scoring seven goals for the team and one assist. For Cape Town City FC, he played 14 times and scored once.

It remains to be seen which club Lekay will join ahead of the 2025/26 season. A return to the Betway Premiership has not been ruled out.
