Football agent Mike Makaab has spoken out on Kobamelo Kodisang’s challenges at Mamelodi Sundowns, revealing that ‘they are worried’ about the attacker’s situation at the club.

Kodisang completed a high-profile move to Sundowns at the start of the 2024/25 Betway Premiership season.
The talented winger joined the Brazilians on a long-term deal from Portuguese outfit Moreirense FC.

The talented midfielder has had a tough first season at Downs, struggling to secure a regular starting spot under both former coach Manqoba Mngqithi and current coach Miguel Cardoso.

The former SA junior international has featured in 13 games in all competitions, scored two goals, and provided two assists. Kodisang has faced stiff competition in the attacking position at the Chloorkop-based side from players such as Tashreeq Matthews, Lucas Ribeiro Costa, Themba Zwane, and Thapelo Maseko.

The 25-year-old was aiming to play regular football at Sundowns to increase his chances of getting called up to the Hugo Broos Bafana Bafana squad.

Having shown potential whenever he got playing minutes at Sundowns, his agent has admitted that they are worried about Kodisang’s lack of game-time.

Makaab says he feels that the highly-rated attacker hasn’t been given a fair chance. However, he understands that other players in his position have been doing well.

“We are worried about Kobamelo Kodisang and his struggles for game-time because he’s a very talented footballer,” Maakab told FARPost.

“And I think he hasn’t been given a fair chance to compete for his position in the team, but we also understand that the players in his position are doing well, and the team is doing well.

“So we’re going to look at all the best possible options for his career because, as I said, he’s a talented player who should play regular football.”
