SuperSport United interim coach Andre Arendse has made an honest admission about his role at the club moving forward.
Arendse has been in charge at the club since they parted ways with Gavin Hunt in March this year.
The former Bafana Bafana goalkeeper took over when the club was just second from bottom in the Betway Premiership.
Matsatsantsa a Pitori survived the relegation playoffs spot by a whisker following their 1-1 draw with Golden Arrows on Thursday. The match was played for only 45 minutes after it was initially abandoned in February this year due to load shedding.
WHAT’S ANDRE ARENDSE HONEST ADMISSION REGARDING HIS FUTURE AS HEAD COACH OF THE CLUB?
The 57-year-old was asked after the Arrows match whether he would be keen to take over as permanent head coach next season.
“Absolutely, I said it before. I have spent the last couple of years educating myself and getting myself to higher levels of coaching,” Arendse told journalists.

“The outcome for me has to be to coach at the highest level. I regard this club very highly and to say that I have doubts putting my hand up to be the head coach would be a lie because I do.
“Having said that, we have come over a really rough period now. We’ve got the team through and I am sure that everybody just wants to reset now and then take it further going into the pre-season for the next season,” he added.
HEAD COACH OF SUPERSPORT UNITED RESPOND TO THE INTENSIFYING RUMOURS OF THE SALE
Meanwhile, Arendse also addressed the rumours surrounding the sale of the club. It has been widely reported that SuperSport could be sold before the start of the 2025/26 season.
“The board has not come to me and said anything. We are going to continue as a football club that exists for now. That’s what we are going to be doing. Until those issues are confirmed, one way or another, any answer I will give you will be speculation.”
