Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos has named the captain of the SA Men’s National Team for the two international friendly matches against Tanzania and Mozambique set to be played in June.
Broos announced his final Bafana squad on Thursday, 29 May, at the SABC television studios in Auckland Park.
However, the 23-member squad did not include Mamelodi Sundowns players as they will be participating in the FIFA Club World Cup, which will be held in the United States from June 14 to July 13, 2025.
Bafana will take on Tanzania at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Friday, June 6. The game will start at 19:30.
The players reported for camp in Johannesburg on Sunday, 1 June, and travelled to Polokwane on the same day.
Bafana had their first training session this afternoon at Ranch Resort, just outside Polokwane.
NKOSINATHI SIBISI TO CAPTAIN BAFANA BAFANA FOR THE TWO FRIENDLY MATCHES

The Belgian mentor has named Orlando Pirates star Nkosinathi Sibisi as the player who will captain the national team in the two friendlies against Tanzania and Mozambique.
He stated that Sibisi’s experience will come in handy, and he is the right player to step in as the captain in the absence of Ronwen Williams of Sundowns.
“We had to search for a little bit. But I think with Nkosinathi Sibisi we have a good captain,” said Broos. “He is an experienced player, and has been with Bafana since I have been here.
“He is somebody who has respect for everybody. So, I think he is a good player to replace Ronwen Williams.”
The second friendly showdown against Mozambique will take place at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Tshwane on Tuesday, 10 June 2025.
The kick-off is yet to be confirmed for the Bafana versus Mozambique encounter.
