Bafana Bafana forward Elias Mokwana accounted for his third silverware in Tunisia, as coach Bradley Carnell keeps soaring in the MLS at Philadelphia Union.
In the Major League Soccer Eastern Conference, Olwethu Makhanya played 90 minutes as Philadelphia Union drew 0-0 with FC Dallas at the Toyota Stadium on Sunday morning.
The Bradley Carnell outfit is cruising nicely this season as they sit at the summit of the table with 34 points after 17 matches.
Additionally, Bongokuhle Hlongwane played 45 minutes in the second-half as Minnesota United beat Seattle Sounders 3-2. The match was played at the Lumen Field on Monday morning.
ELIAS MOKWANA’S ESPERANCE COMPLETES TREBLE!
In Tunisia, Elias Mokwana’s Esperance completed a treble after winning the 2024/25 Ligue 1 title, the Tunisian Super Cup and Tunisian Cup.
The Bafana Bafana winger, Mokwana, was an unused substitute as Esperance beat Stade Tunisien in the Tunisian Cup final on Sunday.
They won 1-0 in a match that was played at the Stade Olympique Hammadi Agrebi. Onuche Ogbelu scored the priceless goal.
Meanwhile, Khanyisa Mayo was not in action this weekend, as CR Belouizdad last played on the 27th of May against Paradou AC. They won 2-1, and Mayo played 28 minutes in the second-half. They will resume action on the 8th of June when they take on CS Constantine at the Stade Mohamed-Hamlaoui.

FADLU DAVIDS WINS SIMBA SC COACH OF THE MONTH AWARD
In Tanzania, Fadlu Davids won the NBC Premier League Coach of the Month award for May. That was after helping Simba SC win five out of five matches.
Simba SC were last in action on Wednesday, 28 May, when they beat Singida Black Stars 1-0. They will return to action on 15 June with a date against Young Africans in the Kariakoo Derby.
Davids’ troops are hoping to overtake Yanga, who are one point ahead of them. Yanga have 73 points after 27 matches, while Simba SC sit on 72 points from 27 matches.
Furthermore, SA stars Cassius Mailula and Thembinkosi Lorch have been involved in a series of club friendlies with Wydad AC.
The Moroccan giants are preparing for the upcoming FIFA World Cup. They both featured in matches played against Sevilla and FC Porto in which the team lost by an identical 1-0 scoreline.
Notably, most of the SA stars are already in the off-season following the conclusion of their respective leagues. These include Siyabonga Ngezana, Lyle Foster, Antonio Van Wyk, Luther Singh and Gift Links, among others.
