Marumo Gallants have set the record straight on the resignation of their head coach, Abdeslam Ouaddou, after the tactician made a shocking announcement on his future.
The Moroccan mentor confirmed his departure from Gallants a few days ago following the conclusion of the 2024/25 Betway Premiership.
Ouaddou has been with Bahlabane Ba Ntwa for a few months, having joined the club in March 2025. The highly-rated coach came in as a replacement for Dan Malasela, who was shown the exit door due to a series of poor results.
In his brief stint with Gallants, the former AS Vita Club coach turned the team into one of the impressive sides in the Premiership, playing an exciting brand of football.
Ouaddou has also managed to help Gallants to retain their top-flight status and survive relegation in their first season back elite league. The Bloemfontein-based outfit purchased the status of Moroka Swallows at the start of the just-ended campaign.
They went on to finish 10th on the league table with 32 points in 28 games, marginally missing out on the top eight finish.
MARUMO GALLANTS YET TO RECEIVE FORMAL RESIGNATION

After Ouaddou revealed that he had left Gallants, the club released a statement stating that they had yet to receive a resignation letter from the coach.
โMarumo Gallants Football Club wishes to clarify recent speculations concerning the status of the head coach, Abdeslam Ouaddou,โ the club said in a statement on Monday.
โThe Club can confirm that it has not received any formal communication or notice of resignation from Coach Ouaddou.
โIn light of this, we will not be making any further comments on the unverified reports currently in circulation. We thank the media and our supporters for their understanding and will share any official developments as they become available.โ
