Former AmaTuks head coach Tlisane Motaung has opened up on what he seeks to achieve at his new challenge following his departure from the Pretoria club.

Motaung, who has been at the helm at Amatuks in the Motsepe Foundation Championship since 2021, officially parted ways with the club at the end of the season.

Despite two attempts to gain promotion to the Betway Premiership during his tenure, Motaung and AmaTuks finished 10th last season. The club is yet to name his replacement.

WHAT TLOSANE MOTAUNG WANTS TO ACHIEVE NEXT FOLLOWING AMATUKS’ EXIT

Speaking to FARPost, Motaung says his next challenge will always be to compete for promotion as he did with his previous club.

“By nature, I am a winner. I want to associate myself with people that have ambitions of winning, that’s what I stand for,” said Motaung.

“If whoever has an interest in my services in the near future, we should sit down and agree on certain things. I will be more than ready to join a club with ambition, because I believe that I am a born winner.

“I want to compete with every responsibility given to me and whoever that will give me the opportunity to add value within the structure, then we will see how the new challenge pans out,” he added.

“Obviously, my wish is to find a next home and see how best I can assist whoever that would have given me an opportunity to achieve what needs to be achieved.

He also led AmaTuks to the Nedbank Cup quarter-finals on two occasions, where they faced defeats against Royal AM in 2021 and against neighbours Mamelodi Sundowns in 2024.
