Ex-Orlando Pirates star Marshall Munetsi is faced with the tough task of filling the gap left by a Brazilian star at Wolverhampton Wanderers in the English Premier League.
Brazilian star Matheus Cunha recently joined Manchester United after scoring 17 goals in all competitions for Wolves. Simply put, he was the point of difference as he won them matches at crucial moments.
After Cunha’s exit, all eyes are on Munetsi, with expectations that he will offer Wolves hope of a player who could be their point of difference.
Mostly known as a midfield enforcer, at Wolves, Munetsi has been deployed as one of the number 10s, and his relentless pressing proved to be very effective.
In 14 games, the 28-year-old scored two goals and provided one assist. That includes a cracking equaliser against Brentford FC on the 25th of May, their last game of the season.

WHAT MARSHALL MUNETSI SAID
Since arrival, Wolves coach Vitor Pereira has bestowed his faith in Munetsi by deploying him as a forward.
And while so much has been said about his conversion rate, Munetsi himself believes he has the ability to improve next season. The Zimbabwe Warriors’ vice-captain said improvement is guaranteed after acclimatising to the club.
โWe had a time where Matheus [Cunha] was suspended, and he was the player that we needed most. I pushed hard, and everybody really pushed from there because people already considered that if Matheus is not there, then weโre going to struggle. Next season, I’ll definitely be better,” said Munetsi.
โEverybody understood the objective, and I think as players we really wanted the team to stay high. Even when I came, I saw the quality that was there. It was important to win a lot of games. But obviously winning six in a row was something that was really special.
Though he mainly played as a forward, his defensive work also stood out the most. According to Wolves, he made 2.5 ball recoveries and 1.7 tackles per game.
