Kabelo Mahlasela appears set to join Richards Bay FC for the upcoming season following the expulsion of his former club, Royal AM.
His tenure with Thwihli Thwahla began in 2020, when the attacking midfielder joined them during their time in the GladAfrica Championship, [the second-tier league now known as the Motsepe Foundation Championship].
This was after leaving Polokwane City FC, who had been relegated at the end of the same season he joined them after departing Kaizer Chiefs.
After quite some time outside the top-flight, the midfielder found his pathway back into South African football’s elite division when Royal AM bought the top-tier status from Bloemfontein Celtic ahead of the 2021/22 season.
As time went on, he was entrusted with the significant responsibility of becoming the vice-captain, making over 80 appearances during the time when they were in the top-flight.
The sad end of Royal AM left the experienced midfielder with absolutely no choice but to embark on a completely fresh start elsewhere as he looks to provide valuable experience to his new side.

KABELO MAHLASELA SET TO START NEW CHAPTER AT RICHARDS BAY
FARPost has been informed that the Natal Rich Boyz have completed the signing of the 34-year-old, strengthening their team ahead of the new season.
Mahlasela joins a contingent of players who, after their time with the now-defunct Royal AM came to an end, have moved on to find new clubs elsewhere.
Golden Arrows raided the Shauwn Mkhize-owned side, signing Siphesihle Msomi, Philani Sithebe, Shadrack Kobedi, Sabelo Sithole, Ayabulela Maxwele, Ayanda Jiyane and Xolani Ngcobo.
Meanwhile, Sekhukhune acquired the services of the defender Khulekani Shezi, joining the Limpopo-based side in March.
Further, Mahlaselaโs move to Richards Bay would make him the third signing from Royal AM after they signed defender Sbangani Zulu and attacking midfielder Mfundo Thikazi.
