Chris Bullock, the agent of Kamohelo Mokotjo, has provided the latest update on the future of the former Cape Town City FC midfielder.

Mokotjo‘s brief, one-season tenure with the Citizens, based in the Mother City, came to an unexpected end when he departed before the 2024/25 season concluded.

The 34-year-old had joined CT City in July of the previous year, signing from Sekhukhune United. His arrival was part of a player exchange, which involved Relebogile Mokhuoane moving to Babina Noko.

Mokotjo had a limited impact, featuring in only 23 matches across all competitions before his departure from the club. This move came with two Betway Premiership matches still to be played in the season.

With a new chapter in his sights, Mokotjo has, as confirmed by his agent Bullock, garnered the interest from clubs beyond the borders of South Africa.

However, he stated that they are still exploring various options for the former Bafana Bafana midfielder, with an aim of securing the best possible destination for his next move.

AGENT REVEALS INTEREST OUTSIDE SA IN MOKOTJO

“We have quite a little bit of interest shown in Kamo, it’s still quite early,” Bullock told FARPost.

“But yes, there’s an interest outside of South Africa. So, we will see what comes out of that and see where else [there’s an interest].

“We are not in a rush to sign anywhere. We want to explore the options and find the best opportunity for Kamo wherever it may be.

“So, we will see what happens in the next few weeks, I think.”

Interestingly, Mokotjo has played most of his career abroad since graduating from the SuperSport United academy in 2008.

He turned out for four clubs in the Netherlands, including Feyenoord, Excelsior, PEC Zwolle and FC Twente. He then played for Brentford FC in England before joining Cincinnati in the USA – MLS.

Mokotjo only returned to South Africa in the middle of the 2022/23 season, joining Sekhukhune.
