Angola beat Bafana Bafana 3-0 to be crowned the 2025 COSAFA Cup champions at the Free State Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Bafana had a promising start to the game after creating a handful of goal-scoring opportunities in the first-half, and they also dominated ball possession.
However, Vela Khumalo‘s boys couldn’t bury their chances when they had the time to do. Sadly, Depu broke the deadlock in the 43rd minute of the showdown, thanks to Pedro Bondo’s beautiful assist.

Angola went into the half-time break leading South Africa 1-0, giving them an upper hand to win the match.

The hosts failed to trouble visitors in the second-half as they struggled to find an equaliser.
Angola were never disheartened as they increased the pace. They began probing Bafanaโs sturdy defence in hopes of finding a way to score another goal.
However, Bafana began to relish their best period of the contest, but they were pushed back and couldn’t generate a significant chance to redeem themselves.
In the 62nd minute, Depu completed his brace, as he added to the scoreline, giving Angola a 2-0 lead.
Angola kept putting pressure on Bafana, which resulted in another goal through Felicio Milson. The goal broke the hearts of South African football fanatics.
The third goal killed the Bafana players’ morale as they noticed it was too late to come back into the match at the Free State Stadium.
Bafana couldn’t bounce back into the game, with Angola taking command of the contest, making sure they walk away victorious.
The game ended with a 3-0 scoreline in favour of Angola, who were declared the 2025 COSAFA Cup winners.
