The 24-year-old revealed the anticipated challenges of facing the South Korean side, highlighting their strengths in counter-pressing, solid defending, and ball-playing abilities.

Meanwhile, the former Stellenbosch FC star is confident that his side will be able to pull through on the day, as they will do whatever it takes to get a positive result.

“I think they are a good team, and they defend well. They have a good counter-press,” Adams told the media.

“They are a ball-playing team with a lot of movement. Another thing is that they have a lot of experience within their team. However, it is going to be a nice challenge for us in the first game of the tournament.

“But I think the team is ready. We like to have the ball [maintain ball possession]; even without the ball, with the counter-press or by going with a low block, we stick together as a team. I think it is going to be a difficult game, but I believe we can get through.”

Sundowns arrived in the USA on Monday, 9 June, to prepare for the prestigious tournament.
