Casric Stars head coach Bucs Mthombeni has shed light on his heated exchange with Cape Town City FC assistant coach Roger De Sa, revealing that the experienced coach insulted him with his mother.
The Mpumalanga-based side was in action against CT City in the PSL Promotional/Relegation Playoffs on Wednesday at the Solomon Mahlangu Stadium in KwaMhlanga, Mpumalanga.
Casric and CT City played out to a 1-1 draw as the fight to secure a spot in the Betway Premiership intensified.
The Citizens took an early lead in the first-half through Prins Tjiueza, while Casric equalised in the 90th minute courtesy of Sphamandla Mlilo from the penalty spot.
Both clubs collected one point apiece to blow the promotion chase in the playoffs wide open. Casric Stars, Cape Town City and Orbit College are all on two points after two matches played so far.
WHAT BUCS MTHOMBENI SAID ABOUT ROGER DE SA
After the match between Casric and the Citizens, Bucs Mthombeni accused Roger De Sa of insulting him in Portuguese, specifically mentioning his mother.

“I have to apologise to our fans because it was 99% of them in the stands, so this was a must-win match,” Mthombeni said on SuperSport TV. “So I told the players in the dressing room that we always play teams in PSL in friendly matches, and we are always dominant and above them.
“Our players were just panicking in this match, but we defended well, and I must give credit to my players. We need to stay positive.
“Somebody insulted me in Portuguese, he thought I wouldn’t hear. He insulted me with my mother, but Roger [De Sa] is my legend. We hugged each other after the match. People say I’m crazy, but if you insult my mother and she’s lying in the cemetery, I have to act the way I acted.
“But apologies for my behaviour and to our supporters,” added a visibly emotional Mthombeni.
