Thabang Sibanyoni is currently weighing his options as Mamelodi Sundowns has not yet activated their contract extension clause, with only 10 days left before his contract expires at the end of the month.
Sibanyoni impressed during his loan at Magesi FC, significantly contributing to their late turnaround that helped them retain their top-flight status.
His performances garnered praise from Magesi FC coach Owen da Gama, who highlighted the impact of the Sundowns loanee following the teamโs 1-1 draw with Orlando Pirates. The Brazilians hold an option to extend their contract for another season.
However, the club, currently participating in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in the US, has yet to activate the player’s extension clause.

While under contract with Sundowns, Sibanyoni has had loan spells with Tuks, SuperSport United, Richards Bay, and most recently, Magesi.
The Limpopo club managed to avoid relegation in their debut Betway Premiership season, finishing 13th despite a challenging start. Sibanyoni joined them on loan in January, where he scored crucial goals that aided their survival bid.
WHAT DOES THE FUTURE HOLD FOR THABANG SIBANYONI
Da Gama described the 29-year-old as โan unbelievable playerโ and โa target man.โ He commented, โYou can play to his feet, you can play aerial balls; there are very few who can compete with him. “He is a fantastic player and my type of striker. He can hold up the ball, he can turn, and he is a team player.
“Heโs not the type of striker who will turn and score 10 goals, but he contributes to the team.โ
According to FARPost sources, Magesi is eager to retain the services of the Mpumalanga-born striker. Before joining Magesi, he attracted interest from several teams, including SuperSport United and Pretoria University. Additionally, Marumo Gallants and Durban City are reportedly interested in acquiring his services.
