Chippa United have offered Musa Nyatama the position of assistant coach, joining new head coach Sinethemba Badela’s technical team.
Initially, the role was offered to Mark Mayambela, who is currently abroad in Belfast, Northern Ireland, completing his UEFA A coaching license. However, there is speculation that the 37-year-old Mayambela has other plans.
Meanwhile, the Chilli Boys, who recently appointed Sinesipho Mali as sporting director, have identified Nyatama as their preferred candidate for the assistant coach position.
The former Moroka Swallows coach spent the latter part of the 2024/25 season at Leruma United. When he took over, the team was struggling at the bottom of the Motsepe Foundation Championship with just three wins in 16 matches. Despite his efforts, they were relegated, finishing 16th.
Leruma took over Marumo Gallants’ status in the second-tier league at the start of the 2024/25 season after purchasing Moroka Swallows’ status in July last year.

CHIPPA UNITED’S OFFER TO MUSA NYATAMA REVEALED
The Eastern Cape team, which recently parted ways with 18 players, appears to be actively overhauling its technical staff. After parting ways with Thabo September and Mabhuti Khenyeza, the club is now bringing in a youthful technical team.
Nyatama, aged 37, has reportedly accepted a one-year contract with an option to extend. He offers valuable experience, having previously helped Dube Birds avoid relegation last season before the club sold its top-flight status to Gallants.
Since assuming the role of sporting director, Mali has implemented significant changes at the Betway Premiership club. Just two days ago, they announced a major squad overhaul, including the departure of veteran midfielder Andile Jali.
Several other players, such as Justice Chabalala, Bienvenu Eva Nga, Craig Martin, Ronaldo, and Darren Johnson, have also left the club.
