An ex-Polokwane City FC forward is trying his luck at Khama Billiat’s current club in Zimbabwe’s Castle Lager Premier Soccer League, it has emerged.
Billiat has been in the books of ambitious side Scottland FC since January, after reviving himself at Yadah FC. The former Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs forward has however struggled to score this season.
But Scottland FC who have a number of former Betway Premiership stars have emerged as one of the pacesetters during the 2025 season.
In their ranks, Scottland FC have Ronald Pfumbidzai formerly with Chippa United and SuperSport United. Former Free State Stars goalkeeper Talbert Shumba is also part of the team.
Walter Musona formerly with Polokwane City is the Scottland team captain. Furthermore, FARPost has been informed that another former Rise and Shine forward is being assessed by Scottland FC.

DOUGLAS MAPFUMO BEING ASSESSED BY KHAMA BILLIAT’S CURRENT CLUB, SCOTTLAND
Striker Douglas Mapfumo had limited game time last season. According to Transfermarkt, the 25-year-old Zimbabwean made three appearances during the 2024/25 Betway Premiership season.
FARPost has learnt Mapfumo is keen on joining the Zimbabwean outfit during the current transfer window. Mapfumo can play as a centre-forward and on both wings.
He joined Polokwane City in July 2023 from Black Leopards, but his contract details were not revealed. At Polokwane City, he made a total of 35 appearances across all competitions, with five goals and two assists under his belt.
Mapfumo has also played for Cape Umoya and Cape Town City FC. Plausibly his time in the PSL helped him earn Zimbabwe National Team caps as he played during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. He made four starts for Zimbabwe, with three appearances from the bench.
If he makes a switch to Scottland FC it will be his first Zimbabwe’s Castle Lager Premier Soccer League club. Mapfumo leaped into South Africa’s football ranks without playing professional football in Zimbabwe.
