Kaizer Chiefs have officially confirmed the departure of midfielder Mduduzi Mdantsane, a move that comes just two days after FARPost initially reported on his exit.
As announced by Chiefs on Monday, Mdantsane’s contract was terminated by mutual agreement, marking him as the fifth player to head out the exit door at Naturena before the 2025/26 season.
His departure follows those of Edmilson Dove, Sabelo Radebe, Ranga Chivaviro, and in addition to Njabulo Blom’s return to his parent club St Louis City SC in the MLS.
Mdantsane is leaving Amakhosi after failing to replicate the impressive form he showed at Cape Town City FC. His lack of game time at Chiefs led to a loan spell at Richards Bay FC in January.
Adding to his challenges, Mdantsane also dealt with an injury from a motor vehicle accident early in the 2024/25 season, which further limited his appearances at Chiefs. Ultimately, he departed the 2025 Nedbank Cup champions without playing a single minute last season.

KAIZER CHIEFS AND MDANTSANE PART WAYS AMICABLY
Signed from CT City on a three-year deal, Mdantsane is parting ways with Chiefs after only two years, with one season still remaining on his contract.
In a brief statement, the Soweto giants wished the attacking midfielder all the best in his future endeavours.
“Kaizer Chiefs and midfielder, Mduduzi Mdantsane have mutually agreed to part ways,” reads the club statement.
“The 30-year-old player joined Amakhosi from Cape Town City at the beginning of the 2023/24 season. Last season, in order to accumulate some game-time after recovering from injury, he spent the latter part the campaign on loan at Richards Bay FC.
“During his time with Chiefs, Mdantsane made 16 appearances across all competitions. We wish Mdu all the best.”
