Following Brandon Truter’s exit from Upington City FC, Kruger United are eying the experienced coach to take over the technical director role.
Truter left Upington after spending the second round of the 2024/25 season in the Motsepe Foundation Championship. ‘Brakkies’ as he is popularly known, arrived at Upington City after his short and unsuccessful spell with Richards Bay FC.
The former AmaZulu FC mentor was appointed as the head coach of the Natal Rich Boys at the start of the previous Betway Premiership season; however, he only lasted for less than six months at the club.
Truter was shown the exit door after a run of underwhelming results with the KZN-based side. He then joined ‘Bafana Ba Gucci’ in December 2024, looking to propel the club to a Premiership promotion. But things didn’t go as planned.
BRANDON TRUTER IN TALKS TO TAKE OVER THE TECHNICAL DIRECTOR JOB AT KRUGER UNITED

As teams are returning from the off-season break, Truter is in talks to take over the role of technical director at Kruger United. The Mpumalanga-based side is looking to continue their impressive form, which saw them come close to qualifying for the PSL Promotional/Relegation Playoffs.
Kruger finished the campaign sitting fifth on the league table after collecting 45 points in 30 games. They won 12 matches, drew nine, and suffered nine defeats. It was Kruger United’s first season in the NFD after gaining promotion from the ABC Motsepe League the season before.
Meanwhile, Kruger United are also on the hunt for a new coach to lead the team in the 2024/25 season after losing their coach, Abram Mongoya.
Mongoya left Kruger to take over a new coaching project in the Northern Cape with Upington City. Interestingly, the promising coach is taking over the position that was previously held by Truter at Upington City.
