Ethan Chislett arrived in South Africa this morning, Thursday, to complete his much-anticipated move to Kaizer Chiefs.

The attacking midfielder landed at OR Tambo International Airport and was greeted by club staff before being whisked directly to the Naturena Village, where he is expected to finalise his transfer to the Soweto giants.

As initially reported by FARPost, Chislett has signed a two-year contract with the club, with an option for an additional year. An official announcement from Chiefs is expected in the coming days.

Chislett is scheduled to undergo his medical examination at the Kaizer Chiefs Village this morning, a crucial step before finalising the intricate details of his transfer.

As he prepares to join the Glamour Boys, the 26-year-old Chislett arrives with an impressive pedigree. He opted not to renew his contract with English League Two side Port Vale FC, where his consistent performances last season were instrumental in their promotion to League One.

Even with significant interest from abroad, including Scottish Premiership side Motherwell and EFL League One’s Wigan Athletic, the Durban-born playmaker has made a decisive choice.

Chislett ultimately opted for a homecoming, choosing to bring his considerable talents to Chiefs in what is widely regarded as a significant coup for the Soweto giants.

WORLD CUP DREAM FUELS CHISLETT’S CHIEFS MOVE!

Chislett’s desire to return to the Betway Premiership was a major factor in his decision, as was his ambition to represent South Africa at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

In a previous interview with FARPost, he expressed a clear alignment of his “heart and mind” with South Africa. His father, Donovan, further elaborated on the timing, stating, “Now with the 2026 [FIFA] World Cup coming up and the potential opportunities in South Africa, it seems like almost the perfect time.”

Despite weighing offers abroad, Chislett left South Africa at the age of four and felt the pull of his birthplace.

“I’m looking for a fresh opportunity. I think my heart and mind are aligned, and they’re set to South Africa, if possible,” Chislett confirmed, indicating his readiness for this new chapter in his career.
