Richards Bay FC are continuing their squad adjustments as they have released attacking midfielder Thato Mohlamme upon the club’s return for the pre-season.
The Natal Rich Boyz assembled at the beginning of the week, starting with medicals as the team is preparing for the upcoming 2025/26 season.
The KZN-based club has parted ways with a couple of players, with several contracts set to expire at the end of June.
FARPost has learnt that the club told Mohlamme he was not in the plans for the next season after returning along with teammates this week for pre-season.
The 26-year-old midfielder’s exit marks the end of a stint that began at the start of the 2023/24 season when he joined Richards Bay from the now-defunct Uthongathi FC.

MOHLAMME’S STRUGGLES FOR GAME TIME LAST SEASON
He barely featured last season, making only ten appearances across all competitions – eight in the Betway Premiership, one in the Carling Knockout Cup and one in the Nedbank Cup.
In total, Mohlamme has only made 19 appearances for Richards Bay in all competitions, netting two goals in the process.
The former JDR Stars man was not the only one departing the Zululand outfit, with Justice Figareido and Thabiso Kutumela leaving after the end of their contracts. As first reported by FARPost, the duo is close to joining Chippa United.
Yanela Mbuthuma and Nkosinathi Ndaba didn’t return for the pre-season after they both signed with Orlando Pirates.
The two youngsters will link up with the Sea Robbers, who are set to depart for their pre-season training camp in Spain, preparing for next season.
Keegan Allan has also parted company with the Jomo Biyela-owned side after penning a pre-contract with AmaZulu FC in January this year.
Other players who have headed out are Siyabonga Dube, Austin Dube and Romario Dlamini.
