Marumo Gallants boss Abram Sello has had his say about the appointment of the club’s new head coach, Lafitte Alexandre, ahead of the 2025/26 season.
On Thursday, 26 June, the Betway Premiership side announced that they have acquired the services of Alexandre, who is only 28 years old. The French mentor takes over the coaching reins from Abdeslam Ouaddou, who recently joined Orlando Pirates.
Alexandre’s last coaching gig was at the Ivorian side Stade d’Abidjan, where he won the league title and helped the club to reach the CAF Champions League group stages in the 2023/24 campaign.
The Bloemfontein-based outfit confirmed that Alexandre will arrive in the country in two weeks to join the team.
The club’s pre-season training campย is expected to commence on Tuesday, 1 July 2025.

“Marumo Gallants FC confirms the appointment of Lafitte Alexandre as the club’s new Head Coach,” said the club in a statement.
“The 28-year-old French coach brings a strong track record in leading teams in both France and Cรดte d’Ivoire. Alexandre most recently managed Stade d’Abidjan, where he guided the team to the Ivorian League title and qualification for the CAF Champions League group stages in the 2023/24 season.
“His appointment follows the departure of Abdeslam Ouaddou, who parted ways with the club at the end of the recent season.”

Meanwhile, the club president, Abram Sello, welcomed the new coach, citing that he has a “clear understanding” of how to take Bahlabane ba Ntwa forward.
“Coach Alexandre has a clear understanding of the direction we are taking as a club,” added Sello. “He joins ahead of pre-season, which is critical for continuity and alignment with our objectives.”
