Chippa United in advanced talks to sign Ndlondlo

Betway Premiership side Chippa United are in advanced talks to complete the major signing of Orlando Pirates midfielder Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo.

The Chilli Boys are continuing to rebuild their squad for the highly-anticipated 2025/26 Betway Premiership season. In a bid to refresh the squad, Chippa parted ways with 18 players, and they are expected to bring a handful of new signings in the current transfer window.

Among the notable released names are former Pirates players Justice Chabalala, Andile Jali, and Bienvenu Eva Nga. Chippa are also taking a new direction under the guidance of the new coach, Sinethemba Badela, who was appointed a few weeks ago.

Badela joined Chippa United after serving as an assistant coach to Rulani Mokwena at Wydad Casablanca last season.

Meanwhile, the Eastern Cape side also appointed Sinesipho Mali as the sporting director, replacing Morgan Mammila.

NDLONDLO ON HIS WAY TO CHIPPA UNITED

FARPost has learnt that Chippa are finalising a deal with the Buccaneers to sign Ndlondlo for the upcoming campaign.

The talented midfielder has struggled to hold a regular starting berth in the Pirates team under the then-head coach Jose Riveiro.

In the previous season, Ndlondlo featured in 23 appearances across all competitions for Pirates without scoring or providing an assist.

A source close to the information revealed that the diminutive star is on his way to Chippa, although the details on whether the deal is a loan or permanent are sketchy.

“Chippa United are finalising a move for Ndlondlo from Pirates to continue building a strong squad,” the source said. “This player struggled for game time last season, and when you look at Pirates’ signings, competition will be tough in the team.”

The 30-year-old has been with Pirates since September 2022 after signing from Marumo Gallants. After Pirates signed Sipho Mbule, Sinoxolo Kwayiba, and Masindi Nemtajela for the midfield position last week, Ndlondlo will have to search for game time elsewhere.
