The PSLโs highly anticipated 2025/26 season is poised for an electrifying start, with FARPost having seen a document confirming the kick-off dates for the upcoming campaign.
The MTN8 will be the first domestic competition to get things rolling, with the highly anticipated tournament kicking off on August 1, 2025.
This season, the MTN8 will feature a strong line-up of contenders including Mamelodi Sundowns, Orlando Pirates, Stellenbosch FC, Sekhukhune United, TS Galaxy, AmaZulu FC, Polokwane City FC, and Richards Bay FC.
Pirates will be eager to defend their title, having secured their third consecutive MTN8 championship last season. The Buccaneers clinched that most recent trophy in October 2024, defeating Stellenbosch FC 3-1 in the final at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
WHEN WILL THE BETWAY PREMIERSHIP KICK-OFF?
Meanwhile, the Betway Premiership will commence on August 8, marking the second season since Betway took over the title sponsorship of the SA elite league from DStv.

Sundowns have been a dominant force in the Premiership after winning the league title eight times in a row.
The Brazilians will be looking to continue their dominance and win the prestigious trophy for the ninth successive season.
On the other hand, the Motsepe Foundation Championship will start on August 22nd, with teams competing for promotion to the elite league.
Last season, Durban City FC won the Championship trophy, securing automatic promotion to the Betway Premiership. Durban City gained promotion alongside Orbit College, which made it through the PSL Promotional/Relegation Playoffs.
After Orbit College won the playoffs, Cape Town City FC, which finished 15th in the top-flight last season, got relegated. โThe Mswenko Boysโ overpowered another NFD side, Casric Stars, and Cape Town City to seal a place in the top league.
In addition, the DStv Diski Challenge will kick-off on the 6th of September. In the previous season, Kaizer Chiefs won the DDC title for the first time in the clubโs history.
