Equatorial Guinea’s goalkeeper Manuel Sapunga has declined a contract extension with Polokwane City FC to pursue a move to Sekhukhune United. His current deal with Rise and Shine expires on June 30, 2025.
Despite being offered a new contract, the Guinea international chose not to sign, expressing his desire to leave the club.
He has now signed a two-year contract with Sekhukhune. Sapunga clocked 50 appearances for Polokwane City in November 2024.
Following his rejection of their offer, the 32-year-old was sidelined and did not feature in the last eight games of the 2024/25 Betway Premiership season.
Sapunga is the second international goalkeeper signed by Sekhukhune this season. The club also re-signed Toaster Nsabata, who has agreed to a two-year deal for his second stint with the team.
