Amajita star Siviwe Nkwali has spoken for the first time following his unveiling as a Stellenbosch FC player for the upcoming season.
Nkwali’s arrival marks another significant move for Stellies as they continue to strengthen their team, following closely on the heels of Wednesday’s announcement of Motsepe Foundation Championship top goal-scorer Muzomuhle Khanyi.
Nkwali joins the Cape Winelands-based club on a long-term contract from Cape Town Spurs, who were recently relegated to the SAFA ABC Motsepe League. His signing brings a wealth of talent and experience, including his tenure with the SA U-20 Men’s National Team, coached by Raymond Mdaka, which triumphed in the CAF Africa Cup of Nations [U2-2 AFCON]recent
Stellenbosch FC has also confirmed that Nkwali will proudly wear the number 14 jersey for the 2025/26 campaign.

WHAT SIVIWE NKWALI SAID AFTER HIS UNVEILING AT STELLENBOSCH FC
The youngster expressed his excitement about joining the Betway Premiership side, adding that he’s eager to make his presence felt at the club.
“I’m very happy to be here and grateful to Stellenbosch FC for giving me an opportunity to once again showcase my talents,” said Nkwali during his unveiling on Thursday.
“Stellenbosch has been a top-three club in the past few seasons, and I hope to help the team continue to compete in the league and push for more silverware.
“I will put in 110% for the team and fight for this badge, and I can’t wait for the season to get started.”
Stellies had a good 2024/25 season, having reached the CAF Confederation Cup semi-finals, where they were knocked out by Tanzanian giants, Simba SC.
In the Betway Premiership, the Steve Barker-coached side finished in third place with 48 points after 28 games.
As a result, Stellies managed to qualify for the next season’s CAF Confederation Cup tournament once again.
