At least three Betway Premiership clubs are embroiled in an intriguing race for the services of a towering Simba Bhora defender ahead of the 2025/26 season.
TS Galaxy, AmaZulu FC and Marumo Gallants are angling to secure rising Zimbabwean defender, Isheanesu Mauchi.
Mauchi, who can play as a right wing-back and centre-back, has been enjoying a decent season with Zimbabwean side Simba Bhora.
The 22-year-old was a vital cog as Simba Bhora clinched the 2024 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League title. As a standout performer, he was voted as part of the 2024 Season Soccer Stars of the Year. Simba Bhora had five of their players on the best eleven list.
His efforts have not gone unnoticed, as he also earned national team call-ups during the latest FIFA international break. In addition, Mauchi is known for his height and tackling ability. He has been praised for his consistency.
Standing at 1.9 metres, Mauchi’s performance has garnered a lot of attention this season, with coaches from opposing teams praising his crucial goal-saving tackles.
TS GALAXY ARE THE FAVOURITES TO SECURE THE TOWERING SIMBA BHORA DEFENDER

In the 2025 season, he has played in all 18 games, with two goals under his belt. A source close to FARPost has revealed that the towering defender is closer to signing for TS Galaxy, although AmaZulu FC and Marumo Gallants are competing for his signature.
“There have been a lot of inquiries from Tanzania, but mainly South African clubs have been knocking hard on the door,” a source told FARPost.
“It looks like TS Galaxy are favourites to secure his services. His father went to South Africa and assessed the club.
“He was satisfied because he wants his son to grow. Remember, this boy was nurtured in Spain. And he has developed to be a big player for his club and also for the Warriors.”
