AmaZulu FC have made a dramatic U-turn on their decision to release striker Boniface Haba, who was let go a few weeks ago.
The 28-year-old was on the list of players leaving Usuthu following the conclusion of the 2024/25 Betway Premiership season.
Haba has been with AmaZulu for one season, having signed at the start of the previous campaign under the then-head coach, Pablo Franco Martin.
The Guinea international joined AmaZulu from the Botola Pro side, Olympic Club de Safi. In his first season with the KZN-based side, Haba had a challenging start to life in the PSL after failing to open his scoring account.
Haba made eight appearances across all competitions, having a limited impact in AmaZulu’s attacking department.

The former Horoya AC goal poacher faced stiff competition from Elmo Kambindu and Etiosa Ighodaro. But the latter has since returned to his parent club, Mamelodi Sundowns, after the expiry of their season-long loan.
Haba was let go by AmaZulu alongside Veli Mothwa, Andile Mbanjwa, Abbubaker Mobara, Sandile Khumalo, Mbongeni Gumede, Kwanda Mngonyama, Ramahlwe Mphahlele, Thembela Sikhakhane, Wayde Jooste, Skhulile Manyoni, Rowan Human, Ethan Brooks, Augustine Mulenga, Msindisi Kunene, and Junior Dion.
However, Haba is part of the pre-season camp in preparation for the 2025/26 season under the leadership of head coach Arthur Zwane.
Meanwhile, AmaZulu have also added Ryan Moon to the squad to beef up their striking force. The former Kaizer Chiefs forward joined the Sandile Zungu-owned team on a free transfer after parting ways with rivals Golden Arrows.
AmaZulu are looking to build a competitive side that can compete for all trophies after finishing sixth on the league table last season.
