Richards Bay FC have completed the signings of the 2024 Khabba Cup Player of the Tournament and Top Goal Scorer, and an Orbit College FC star.

The Natal Rich Boyz are strengthening their squad in preparation for what promises to be a challenging yet exciting 2025/26 season.

This upcoming campaign marks a significant milestone for the club, as they will be participating in the prestigious MTN8 tournament for the very first time. The KwaZulu-Natal-based outfit recently returned from their off-season break, eager to kickstart their preparations and ensure they begin the new season on a significantly higher note.

WHO ARE THE TWO NEW FACES SET TO JOIN RICHARDS BAY

The Jomo Biyela-owned side will welcome striker Lundi Mahala, who recently departed Highbury FC, and right-back Halalisani Vilakazi from the newly promoted side, Orbit College.

Mahala impressed at the Khabba Cup tournament in Umlazi in June. Representing Eastern Cape XI, he played a pivotal role in their triumph, as they ultimately defeated FC Lagos in the final to win the tournament.

His exceptional contributions were recognised with two accolades: he was named both the Player of the Tournament and the Top Goal Scorer.

On the other hand, Vilakazi was instrumental in Orbit’s recent promotion to the Betway Premiership, playing a key role in their success via the PSL Promotion/Relegation Playoffs.

In the list of players whom the club has already acquired, they join the likes of Gabadinho Mhango and Lindokuhle Mtshali.

The Malawian international attacker, Mhango, arrived at the club after parting ways with Marumo Gallants at the end of the previous season. Similarly, Mtshali made the move to the Natal Rich Boyz following his departure from Sekhukhune United.

RICHARDS BAYโ€™S EXITS SO FAR

Mhango has reportedly been brought in by Richards Bay as a direct replacement for Yanela Mbuthuma, who was recently transferred to Orlando Pirates alongside left-back Nkosikhona Ndaba.

In addition to these significant exits, the Natal Rich Boyz have also parted ways with several other players as they continue to fine-tune their squad for the upcoming challenging season.

Mxolisi Macuphu recently concluded his six-month stint with the club, despite having only joined in January on a free transfer from the now-defunct Royal AM.

Furthermore, Somila Ntsundwana also departed the Jomo Biyela-owned side, bringing to an end his tenure of over four years, as his contract was not renewed.

Richards Bay also bid farewell to Justice Figareido, Thabiso Kutumela, Siboniso Conco, Keegan Allan, Thato Mohlamme, Siyabonga Dube, Austin Dube and Romario Dlamini.
