Golden Arrows have parted ways with striker Kagiso Malinga, a move that comes despite his contract still running.
The centre-forward has been with Abafana Besโthende for a year and a half, having joined the club midway through the 2023/24 season.
He signed on a free transfer after leaving Moroka Swallows, who were, at the time, grappling with significant financial issues and struggling to pay their players.
In the second-half of his debut season with the KZN side, he featured in nine appearances across all competitions, managing to score one goal.
Meanwhile, Malinga’s impact was significantly limited last season, as he only managed to make 12 appearances and failed to score a single goal during those matches.ย
KAGISO MALINGA RELEASED AHEAD OF 2025/26 SEASON
This website understands that the player has left the club after his contract was terminated, as he was reportedly not in the coach’s plans. His deal with the Durban-based outfit was originally set to run until June 2026.

Malinga joins a number of players who have parted company with Arrows, with the club reshaping its squad ahead of the upcoming season.
Sicelokuhle Hlatshwayo was the first player to depart Arrows, leaving the club at the end of the previous campaign.
The defenderโs exit came after he consistently struggled to secure game time, especially over the past two seasons.
They further released Sfiso Mlungwana, whose contract also expired on 30 June, after turning out for Arrowsโ first team for the past five years.
Mlungwana had joined Arrows via their MultiChoice Diski Challenge side in 2018 from the UKZN Varsity football team. He was then promoted to the first team in January 2020 after impressing in the reserve team.
Arrows also initially released goalkeeper Nkosinathi Gumede, but a potential u-turn might be on the cards. He’s recently been seen training with the team, suggesting he could be preparing for the upcoming season with the club.
