Morena Ramoreboli has drawn a comparison between Thero Setsile and Orlando Pirates midfielder Deon Hotto, suggesting Setsile would adapt well in the Betway Premiership.
The attacking midfielder, Setsile, has been a pivotal player for Jwaneng Galaxy, featuring in over 25 matches across all competitions during the 2024/25 season. He further distinguished himself by being the second-leading goal-scorer in the Botswana Premier League with 16 goals, alongside seven assists.
Setsile’s contributions were instrumental in helping his team secure a fourth-place finish in Botswana’s top-flight, accumulating 59 points from 30 outings. This placed them seven points behind league winners Gaborone United.
Additionally, he boasts 34 caps for the Botswana National Team, where he plays under his former mentor, coach Ramoreboli.

In an exclusive interview with FARPost, Ramoreboli lauded Setsile’s standout attributes, drawing a comparison to Hotto. He highlighted Setsile’s versatility, goal-scoring ability, and high anaerobic endurance.
“When you talk about Thero and want to create a good profile about him, you could compare him to Deon Hotto. He’s a player who’s flexible and can play any position on the left,” Ramoreboli told FARPost.
“At one point, I remember we were playing with one man down after receiving a red card in that match. The only person I could trust to play at left centre-back at that time was Thero Setsile. We had to move him to centre-back, and he finished the match in that position.
“So, he’s a utility player, and he’s one player who can get you goals. Another good thing about him is his personality. He’s a good human being who respects, understands, and loves the game.
“I think that’s why it’s easier for him to play in so many positions. This is one player who has high anaerobic endurance; the reason he covers a greater distance in any match and his willingness to run for a longer period.”

Having caught the eyes of some of the Betway Premiership clubs, Ramoreboli revealed that Setsile can play in any team in the SA elite league, and continue to produce good performances.
“Let me be honest with you: that guy, if I were to recommend him, is one of the players who can play at any club in South Africa, especially in the Betway Premiership,” he added.
“I’m saying this because, in the Betway Premiership, to survive, you need to be physically strong, you need to be aerially strong, and you need to be technically sound. Those are some characteristics that you get from Thero Setsile.”
