Richards Bay FC have given a clarification on the situation of Justice Figuareido, explaining why the club hasn’t issued his clearance as of yet despite his exit.

The Eswatini international is currently training with Chippa United, hoping to make a move ahead of the start of the 2025/26 season.

Justice Figuareido is said to have been requested by Chippa coach Sinethemba Badela to join him with the two having previously worked together at the now-defunct Cape Town All Stars.

Biyela has revealed that Figareido hasn’t been handed a clearance until Chippa meet a certain requirement. He stated that the player still belongs to Richards Bay.

BIYELA CLARIFIES CLARIFY FIGUAREIDO’S SITUATION

“There’s Justice from Swaziland, the coach [Sinethemba Badela] has been calling that he wants Justice,” said Biyela.

“He helped him in the NFD [during their time at Cape Town All Stars]. So, you could see that the coach is no longer alone here. Yes, the coach was requesting for the player but there was another voice behind the coach.

“So, one of the things we won’t do is to block the player if they approach us in a respectful manner.

“We don’t just let you go for free, we hold the clearance and see if what we agreed on will happen. So, we’re still waiting for what we agreed on so he can then [officially] move to Chippa, the one that he’s still training with.

“But for now, officially, he’s a Richards Bay player until something happens.”

Biyela confirmed that Somila Ntsundwana, who recently parted company with Richards Bay, is also on the verge of joining the Chilli Boys.

He departed the KZN club last week after his contract was not renewed, ending a close to five-year stay at the club.
