Sekhukhune United have parted with midfielder Lesedi Kapinga ahead of the start of the 2025/26 season, FARPost has learnt.
The 30-year-old joined Babina Noko at the beginning of the 2024/25 campaign on a free transfer after parting company with Orlando Pirates.
Kapinga’s struggle for playing time continued at Sekhukhune United, mirroring his experience at former club Pirates. His opportunities were limited to just 13 appearances, with 11 in the Betway Premiership, one in the Nedbank Cup, and one in the Carling Knockout Cup.
He scored one goal in the process, a strike that came during the league match against TS Galaxy, where Sekhukhune lost 3-1.
KAPINGA LEAVES SEKHUKHUNE AFTER ONE-SEASON STAY
According to FARPost sources, the player has parted ways with the club and is actively seeking new opportunities elsewhere as the new season approaches.
It appears that Kapinga hasnโt been training with the Limpopo side as they are preparing for the upcoming campaign.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder joins a list of several players who have departed Sekhukhune.
They parted ways with Lindokuhle Mtshali, who, much like Kapinga, spent just one season with the club after joining on a free transfer from the now-defunct Moroka Swallows.
The club also bid farewell to Ivorian goalkeeper Badra Ali Sangare, whose contract concluded at the end of the previous season, marking the end of his spell that began in 2022.
Goalkeeper Lloyd Kazapua was another player to leave Sekhukhune, as his contract was not renewed. This move was part of the clubโs aim to revamp their goalkeeping department ahead of the upcoming season.
In addition to the aforementioned players, Katlego Mkhabela, Pogiso Mahlangu, Alves Ngakosso, Miguel Antonio Dias, and Kamohelo Sithole also departed the club. Furthermore, loan agreements for Sipho Mbule and Katlego Otladisa concluded.ย

In addition to these new acquisitions, the club has also recalled four players from their respective loan spells: Wonderboy Makhubu, Kgomotso Mosadi, Teboho Letsema, and Edmar Kamatuka.
