Ex-Kaizer Chiefs star Jabulani Mendu has joined Lesotho side Linare FC as the club’s new head coach for the upcoming season.

‘S-curl’, as he is popularly known within the football circles, has signed a two-year deal with an option to extend for another year.

Mendu comes in highly recommended as he holds a CAF A Licence, which he completed last year. This coaching qualification is a mandatory criterion set by CAF for coaches to be able to sit on the bench during CAF inter-club competitions.

During his playing days, Mendu also represented teams such as Thanda Royal Zulu, Mamelodi Sundowns, and Moroka Swallows. He hung up his boots in 2007.

In addition, the 48-year-old retired midfielder is not the first SA mentor to take the helm at Linare. Former Orlando Pirates coach Teboho Moloi also took charge of the Lesotho outfit in November 2020.
