Former Mamelodi Sundowns player Rivaldo Coetzee has made it clear what he prioritises in his next career move, stating simply: “That’s all I am looking for.”
Coetzee parted ways with the Betway Premiership champions at the end of the 2024/2season after the club opted against extending his contract. The 28-year-old is now a free agent and is weighing his options as he looks for a new home.
There have been reports linking the former Bafana Bafana player to clubs such as Stellenbosch FC and Sekhukhune United.
Speaking to FARPost, Coetzee says he feels there is still more he can contribute to football, but was hesitant to reveal his next move.
WHAT RIVALDO COETZEE IS LOOKING FOR IN HIS NEXT MOVE
“There is so much I can still do, I trust myself completely,” Coetzee said during an interview with this publication.
“It’s just a matter of getting the opportunity and being in a good environment. That’s all I am looking for now. No hint [he laughed]. I am just taking it day by day, taking things as they come. You can’t control these things.”

EX-MAMELODI SUNDOWNS STAR TAKING IT ONE DAY AT A TIME AS HE WAITS FOR ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY
During his time at Sundowns, Coetzee won the league title eight times. He was also part of the squad that won the African Football League in 2023, as well as finishing second in the CAF Champions League this year.
“It’s football, it’s like that in our profession, sometimes one day you are at the best club and the next moment you are no longer there and you are looking for a club,” added the former Ajax Cape Town player.
“It’s life, and I take it as it comes. I am just working on my own at the moment and trying to stay fit. Hopefully something will come up soon.”
